The Dishonest (finally) Pagan

(This article has been published in the newspaper Ultima Hora, Palma de Mallorca, THE VOICE OF ALMER? A, Journal of Tarragona and a dozen other Spanish newspapers)

The resignation of Strauss-Kahn from his post at the IMF after the alleged rape of a girl is a sign that something important is changing. So far, those accused of any crime they clung to their positions as possessed.

Neither bill passed political corruption. The French parliament from the time of Mitterrand issued two general amnesties to the illegal funding of political parties. Recently, however, the Minister Alliot-Marie had to resign for having received the satrap entertainments Tunisian Ben Ali. Italy's Berlusconi to its varied and repeated outrages cost just a setback at the polls.

In Spain this has not happened yet: former chief of staff Canal Nou, Vicente Sanz, reported sexual harassment, has managed to retire like that. Neither the Gürtel case has shocked the voters, although Esperanza Aguirre Camps and have left a few votes in the cattery.

Each day that passes, however, political parties emerge a little more criminal charges sucker leaders: Senator Meliton Gonzalez Caceres, for example, resigned "to defend" the crime of child abuse, and Councilman Antonio Linense Torres, of fraud.

This is an incipient process, of course, but steady. If Outraged initiative movement is achieved that the electoral lists accused persons can not lead, we get rid of a lot of people doubt that, if he proves his innocence then, you can return to politics as richly. If not, make a living like anybody else.
