Use your About Me page at eBay to drive traffic to your site


This is something that may not have thought of doing, but it is a way that is guaranteed to drive even more visitors to eBay to your personal page.

If you plan to use it as a springboard to allow people access to your website, you will begin to have more ideas on what your auction visitors will be interested in reading about.

Let's say you sell wooden toys on eBay, and want to get more people to visit your site, which sells a complete line of toys that are not listed on the auction site. Okay, why not do some 'research and discover the benefits of giving children wooden toys to play with, rather than electronic games? For example, one could say that they save a lot of money by not having to buy batteries for them. They are also more durable, do not fall out of fashion more quickly, and can also be passed on to their children as a family heirloom.

All you have to do is write a short report detailing the benefits of the toys they sell, and post it on your About Me page. Somewhere within this report will be a link (clickable of course) to the home page of the website (you can not connect directly to a product that is sold, as this is interpreted as an attempt by eBay to guide their customers on their site to purchase elsewhere).

The ads will contain a line that reads something like: "To discover why we have chosen to sell wooden toys rather than the modern toys that require batteries, click here to visit my personal page!"

If people found your listing, and are interested enough to read the description, chances are high you will want to find out why you sell what you do. It is human nature - we are curious beasts at heart!

PHASE TWO - Write some reviews and guides SURFERS FOR EBAY

Every time you see a product on eBay, not only obtain the results of research that appears on the next screen. You will also have a small box under the section on categories that will tell you all the reviews people have written or guides that are related to the product that you tried.

This is a great opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in everything they are selling, and you can even put a clickable link to your personal page within the body of the guide or review. You will also find that you'll be listed as a reviewer next to your eBay ID, which in turn provides another way for people to get some information from you and to finish in the final analysis, I look at your page ... and surf over to your website.

Make a point to write a guide every week, if you can, and you'll soon have another strategy out there on eBay, working hard to gain more traffic.

If you started to put these strategies in place, will now always be a much greater percentage of people who visit your About Me page. The next step is to make sure you leave that page and visit your Web site.

As mentioned previously, you can not connect directly to a product that is sold, but there should be no problem if you connect to the home page of your website. You will of course need to make sure that the main page has a lot to offer to your visitors, but that will be covered in detail later in this book.

The main point to remember is that you should not try to sell anything to anyone from my page. All we are trying to do is to get them to visit your website, and the easiest way to do this is by creating some intrigue and promise .......
