Web Design-Impact beyond measure

As a 'stunning' still charming painting by Pablo Picasso, is essential for websites to create engaging and stimulating material to attract an audience and establish a solid fan base. Of course, abstract paintings require a little 'out-of-the-box thinking when deciphering the vision of artists, thought and message. This is the kind of charm that a website needs to support so it can be successful over time. By ensuring that users are sufficiently stimulated on a continuous basis companies will eventually reach subscribers devotees. This is what every company wants, but the trick is to develop a site that is not covered with intricate design elements (which could affect the usability) and bland content that you brought the browser to tears, but to establish an effective balance.

Of course, if a website does not contain any substance you can expect a great response and loyal following, it is now possible?

According to research, a website that has content relevant information and can help position a company as a professional in the consumer interested and focused. If a website can clearly and effectively show potential customers that the company is informed and updated in their field of competence, the consumer becomes safe and confident of the services offered. Keep in mind that a website is multi-functional entity that acts as a communication tool, then plays a central role in improving the impact and brand image. Consider your website a personal interaction with customers and prospects. Because of this notion, even the smallest 'balls-up' can threaten a company's reputation. Yet, however squeezing the contents of a web site design elements may have a dramatic impact if not fundamental contribution to make.

There are some important aspects of a website that is strongly influenced by the web design. Keep in mind that the influence of web design on the success of a website is more profound. These are some significant and fundamental elements that are affected by the web design beautifully.

Usability is the key

When someone punches a few key words on a keyboard, instant and relevant information and a policy of confusion is expected. Request cafes and fast food has evidence of what the world of today has evolved into a fast, 'I want it now' society. The Internet is certainly a result of this mentality. Life has become easier, how to bake a cake from a box. Most users have a short attention span when it comes to finding the information they need and want. Because of this reason, usability is a vital. As for making the content easier to find, with good design web page, a user should not have to wonder what to do next. Navigation is there for a reason, and which makes it easier and get more information for you soon!, Which is what you want. The next step should always evident. The easier it is for customers to find what they are looking the more likely they will buy or inquire.

It's like being stuck in the queue at customs at the airport, waiting for your turn to be served. It is frustrating?

E 'was observed that all too often, websites are focused on seduction, regardless of the user. Many have won prestigious design awards, but perform extremely poorly and consequently losing customers by the thousands. According to the survey 50% of online sales are lost because visitors are not able to navigate through a website and find what you are looking for. Another factor that plays an important role is how long it takes for a website to load. The research states that it makes good sense to ensure that a website loads faster. Studies have shown that if the visitors are forced to wait more than 8-10 seconds to load a page, customers run a serious risk of losing potential customers.

As a general rule, every single web page should load in 8 seconds or less, preferably on a 56k modem.

Flash has been appointed as a huge factor in the usability of a website. However, Flash has become a common tool in internet marketing and is now widely used around the web. But, there can be drawbacks that must be so carefully determine whether a site will benefit from its use. One of the advantages of using Flash is the visual appeal of it. Can be used with the navigation, adding interesting visual graphics. Although, a disadvantage of using Flash is that not all internet browsers have a Flash player Also, not all users may wish to download. Needless to say, the Flash technology tends to discourage usability for very obvious reasons. Flash can cause a bad design, breaking the fundamental interaction style of the Web and it also consumes resources that would be better spent enhancing the value of a central site. Approximately 99% of the time, the presence of Flash on a website hinders usability and distracts attention from the fundamental value of the site and purpose.

Perhaps, web designers interested in improving the usability and overall business presence on their site should use Flash sparingly?

By focusing on improving the usability, web designers are able to keep people interested for the long haul.

Our lives are full of color. What would life be like if we lived 'in black and white' life? The color adds interest and can determine if a site is looking fresh and alive or can also create an image dull and sad, is not that what every customer wants. In the world of web design, bad color combinations may reveal a hostile site, amateur, and inaccessible. Thus, it is not surprising that over 80% of visual information is related to color. There are various reactions to color are instinctual, universal and cross cultural boundaries. According to a 1997 survey by Cooper Marketing Group, Oak Park, IL, power is represented by the color scarlet red for 25% of respondents, 17% black and bright violet blue for 13%. Over 55% of respondents chose one of these three colors to 100 colors. Fragility was most represented by pale pink (27%), white (9%), and pale lavender (9%).

Note that colors can be perceived by people as different moods and emotions. When designing a website you should consider the state of mind that should be portrayed. These moods can vary from person to person, depending on their life experiences. Web design, which allows for successful marketing results is sensitive to cultural meanings, instinctual and iconic color in relation to the product or service promoted. More importantly, it also considers the cultural background and gender of the targeted customers. Avoid extremes of sheer garishness and boredom, effective design displays symphonic color arrangements of shades, tints, tones and complementarities to tantalise and maintain interest. Adding texture can also change colors - a roughly textured surface makes it look a dark color, while a smooth surface lightens the same color.

Although, it also stands a designer to place good to know what the colors mean. Different shades of colors work well in different situations. For example, using highly saturated colors all the time is not always good, using shades that can do certain things are more or less than others. For example, it would be good to have the main elements of content that can be seen more in the sidebar, because that is where you want to attract attention. When making the sites you have to use common sense when choosing colors. For example, if you were making a commercial site that would not have used bright pink, because that would be childish and unprofessional. Another example, if you were making a Laser Eye Clinic website, you should not use red as this would result in danger and blood. Scary.

In those days computers support millions of colors (16bit or 32bit), ie compatible colors between systems have increased. The new palette based on 16bit systems, intelligent web is the palette which supports 4096 web smart colors. When you change the colors you must provide the contrast between the color and the text on it is enough for people with low vision to see, or at least offer a high contrast version. There are sites with gray text on slightly grayer background making it very difficult to read, this is bad accessibility wise. Also note some colors may be uncomfortable with, for example, some people find it hard to look green and red together, green text on red would be a bad idea. In most cases, the finer details are forgotten and falls by the wayside - treat people of color blind on the web, make sure you have options to see a version that can read.

The impact of Web Design on the conversion rate
A simple description of the conversion on the web reads as follows: conversion refers to the form that any interested party shall, in order to purchase a product from a company. A Web Site Visitor Conversion occurs when a user performs a key action to do so. Conversions can be macro (the most significant action) or micro (one of many actions that precede the conversion macro). For most sites, conversions are what may be directly or indirectly attributable to a financial return. Spending money on search engine marketing or online advertising could be a waste of resources if a site is a poor converter. Inevitably, the conversion determines the profitability site.
Once again it is necessary to make a website easy to use. If not there will be less chance of people buying.

It is interesting to note that making a site accessible is a legal requirement in many countries. The inaccessibility can affect sales, as visitors will find the site impossible to use and go elsewhere. Apparently a typical inaccessible site could lose 5% of potential sales because of this. Many designers only pay attention to Internet Explorer. The justification for this is usually that 99% of site users use Internet Explorer. It never seems to mind the designers that perhaps the reason why visitors are so few other browsers is that their site is fundamentally broken - it does not work anywhere else.

Percentage of people who do not use IE varies from site to site.
Approximately 80-85% of web users use IE on Windows, which means that an average site that does not work in anything else could stand to lose 15-20% of sales. Visibility is also an important factor. For example, when a user decides to purchase a product, that adds up to a cart. How do they add? Clicking on a button or link. But what happens when they can not see the button? Go elsewhere. There are plenty of sites out there with the keys that are too thin, or not saying the right thing, or are hidden in the bottom of the page. "Add" button is considered a text ineffective. "Buy" is a success. "Add to cart xxx" is great. "Add xxx to cart" in large letters on a large glowing button near the top of the page, is even better. Calls to action, like this, do not need to be sweet, but it must be evident and clear.
Sites that are only called for action according to the research may earn a 1% to 30% increase in sales as a result.

The impact of web design is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

This is a note that having a Web site ranks in search engine results for searches on specific keywords or phrases. If a website does not have a page that appears in the top 10 search engine results (SERPs) the chances of someone clicking on the list, and actually visiting the site, will drop dramatically. Optimizing a site and content for a search engine, for a better ranking in SERPs, is known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), but many developers Web designers / or do not take time to code a site properly or do not know how to do proper SEO. The Basics of code optimization are just sound HTML coding practices, if followed, go a long way toward SEO. There is much we can do to optimize your website for search engines by the level of code.

The first rule of SEO is not to design your site in such a way that the code prevents a spider to be able to index it. This means avoiding pages that are 100% graphics and no text, such as pages that contain all the images, or are they just flash. Moreover, if the first thing a user encounters is a log-in page, before you can view the contents of the site, so this is what you will see a spider and is not going well, either. If you're planning to build a Web site entirely in Flash, do not. If you have no choice, then read my previous column, Search Engine Optimization and HTML sites. To find out what a spider sees on your site, run a spider simulator on a given page. The simulator will show you what text the spider sees and what links it finds. There are many good ones on the market at different prices. If you're looking for something that's free, I'd suggest Search Engine Spider Simulator.

There is definitely room for a further impact, depending on the subject, with regard to the information architecture, copy writing, coding interface in web design or graphic design layer (usability). Web design promotes confidence and trust in the site as it is able to look legitimate and "professional", depending on the chosen design elements. Web design can maintain a clear message, consistent and unified operation. Obvious as it may be a good site should be memorable. Be memorable, and being careful to remain in the mind of the user, depends on many factors. Not good if your visitors to remember why you are great, but can not remember your name.

Obviously, web design is much more than a pretty picture .......
