When was the last time you looked in the mirror your business? What did you see? In recent months I have studied many small businesses and buying services and goods cheap in relation to pay top dollar for the best products and quality services.

I purchased a pair of shoes from a store with no name shoes off, you know those shopping centers in North America a few years ago. I think I paid about $ 40.00 for a pair of dress shoes that were made from artificial leather. In the coming weeks these shoes wore out at an alarming rate, the heels are down to zero very quickly and caused some minor discomfort with my back and feet. Needless to say I needed another set of shoes quickly, this time I decided to invest in a great pair of shoes from a retailer that sold only the best quality products. Being an IT consultant I do a lot of walking around the center of our meeting with clients during the workday, so I welcomed the higher quality product.

The next pair of shoes was an investment of about $ 250.00. Why do I say from the investment of buying? Three years have passed and I still have those shoes, and I recently had to re-invest an additional $ 40.00 to resole them. I invested $ 290.00 over three years for a pair of shoes of great quality that will continue to last for many years to come. In the long term by investing in better quality has actually cost me less than going for the cheaper alternative, which would have been $ 40 x 10 to be forgiven by the party.
