Leader and connection with a workforce culture Diverse - Nu Leadership Series
"An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows."
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Effective leaders understand the importance of organizational link with a culturally diverse workforce. I think it is important that the leaders of the organization to establish a connection to love. What do I mean? Managers should place a high priority on their relationship with followers. In many instances, companies singing the praises of new technologies, while workers are often devalued in the process.
Leaders should see followers as more than mechanical parts for their organizational objectives. Pfeffer, author of The Human Equation, which recognizes an organization's success is directly related to its implementation, and this ability comes from the workers, how they are treated, their skills, and their efforts as they relate to the organization . Replacing the present workforce, the Workforce Emergent in the future will cross gender, age, race and geography.
As demonstrated by recent studies, employees want a job more meaningful. Diversity is only adding fuel to a fire that is already smoking. Employees today do not want to be a component in a big car. Employees want to be appreciated. As in marriage, a person can not forget what attracted him to his companion. This individual must continue to make love that connection. Similarly, leaders can not afford to ignore the needs of their partner organization, the employees. Effective organizations should focus on its employees or risk the label of an organization indifferent market.
